Hmm all I can say is make sure you choose a brief that you enjoy or create your own brief like I did (if you get a choice) - As the last thing you need is to be stuck researching a topic that you find boring. Secondly I’d say listen to the advice from your tutors, but also stick with your own ideas if you really believe in them (as it may not come across as well in a tutorial or they might not see your vision at first) and back everything up with as much evidence/examples & quotes as you can. Thirdly just try and enjoy learning, and don’t lock yourself away too much as your best ideas will come when out and about or searching blogs/videos & sites you like looking at.
